HOW TO SPEAK TO INSPIRE & ACTIVATE AUDIENCES TRAINING
With inspirational public speaking skills you can electrify a room, transform the mindset of an audience, stir excitement, transfer knowledge, unlock empathy and promote a shared dream. You can transform passive listeners into captivated and activated collaborators.

Speaking to inspire and activate is the most challenging form of public speaking. Fortunately, it is a learnable skill. It’s not easy, but it is doable.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
How to Speak to Inspire & Activate Audiences is a rigorous 16-week boot camp with 21 instructional hours and 200 hours of self-study. This program is designed to transform a motivated individual with a strong work ethic and good ideas into a leader empowered to attract, inspire and activate collaborators. This is true when speaking one-on-one, to personal and professional audiences small and large, to a camera lens, to an interviewer and even when making an advertisement.

When you understand the science and art of effective communication you become capable of building an infinite number of talks that inspire and activate your audiences. When you’ve been through the rigor of self-reflection and learning to identify and intentionally project those of your personality traits that attract followers, and then are guided to build and deliver your first talk to touch hearts and minds, you transform from ‘someone with good ideas’ into a powerful thought leader, change agent and difference maker.

The process we’ll take you through is not for the faint of heart. Be prepared to have your self-identity changed. You might think you are an expert, and then realize that get promoted at work, is not enough to make you a thought leader, a change agent, a difference maker. World Champion of Public Speaking, Craig Valentine, says “What got you here, won’t get you there.” The realizations are humbling. The work is daunting. Be prepared.

How to Speak to Inspire & Activate Audiences has 4 modules:

  1. Self-assessment – planning with clear vision and intention.
  2. Knowing what to say – constructing a talk that inspires and activates.
  3. Knowing how to say it – connecting with your audience.
  4. Practice, practice, practice – evaluations and revisions until success.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE – HOW TRAINEES RECEIVE INSTRUCTION
You’ll receive 21 hours of guided instruction by a qualified instructor. This instruction is scheduled on the same evening – Monday – every week. In addition, homework is assigned weekly and evaluated with suggestions for improvement. Most trainees report up to 15 hours per week completing assignments. See details below.

Instruction includes:

  1. Every 2 weeks on Monday evenings starting May 13, 2019, you’ll attend a live, online, 45-minute video conference and experience small group instruction with facilitated discussion.

All concepts from online self-guided video tutorials will be introduced along with related homework. Homework includes self-assessment worksheets, written assignments, and research.

In addition, the instructor facilitates ongoing discussion about work in progress, ah-ha moments, challenges and lessons learned.

Total Instructional Hours: 6.0 Hours

  1. 110 online self-guided video tutorials. Most video lessons are 3 to 7 minutes in length – guiding every aspect of planning, constructing, and delivering your inspirational talk.

A single 7-minute video can initiate 3 hours of homework e.g., when you study the video Your Credibility, the homework includes a Self-Assessment Worksheet and related writings to bolster your credibility.

Credible experts exhibit personality characteristics and traits that attract followers. A credible expert has relevant life experience, comprehensive knowledge of pertinent science, passion, purpose, takes a stand, leads by example, and can delineate the best next steps for all involved. With these characteristics in mind, if you don’t know current science relevant to your topic, then you‘ve got work to do. If you can’t articulate clearly defined action steps, then you’ve got work to do. Yes, a single video can initiate hours of homework.

Total Instructional Hours: 9.5 Hours

  1. Weekly, live one-on-one private coaching sessions will be conducted through online video-conference. Coaching is specific to your needs. 10-minute sessions are regularly scheduled toward guiding successful completion of homework. 25-minute sessions are regularly scheduled during the creative phase of script development. One 60 minute session is scheduled for review and analysis of video recording with you speaking to a “test audience”.

Total Instructional Hours: 5.5 Hours

  1. Homework is assigned weekly and evaluated with suggestions for improvement.

Homework includes worksheets and writing assignments such as draft scripts, layered editing, and live presentations recorded on video. Most trainees report as much as 15 hours per week completing homework. Most trainees report constructing more than 30 drafts to arrive at their final script.

Estimated homework hours: 200 Hours
